The artificial intelligence has allowed Amazon to offer a pioneering supermarket called Amazon Go, the first one that operates without human cashiers.

This is a physical store that has opened in downtown Seattle, USA, selling food products. It has a rather futuristic design, as the key to entry is a smartphone, which is also used for payment.

In a place that operates without cashiers and relies on the artificial intelligence, in object recognition technology and tracking systems, which take advantage of data sent by sensors and infrared cameras in the facility to identify users and their movements.

Smart shopping and a freer consumer

There are no cashiers or registers, so there are no lines of people waiting to pay; the process is completely automated. The supermarket employs staff who restock shelves, prepare fresh produce in the on-site kitchens, and answer any questions customers may have, including checking their age if they wish to purchase alcoholic beverages.

The consumer enters by scanning a QR code from their smartphone, places the items in a bag, and the purchase is charged directly to their Amazon account.

It is a complex system of artificial intelligence, The system, which relies on object recognition and machine learning, evaluates user movements and, according to Amazon, is thief-proof, as customers are continuously monitored and fully identified.

The shelves also have sensors that indicate whether a product has been removed or if it has simply been picked up to check the ingredients. It intelligently distinguishes user gestures. Many products have a code that facilitates identification by the cameras.

The invoices are electronic and sent to the users' credit cards as soon as they leave the store. This is the kind of technological advancement that makes it possible to... artificial intelligence, which allows large, medium and small companies to move forward.

What can you buy on Amazon Go?

You can find delicious options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, ready-to-eat meals, and chef-prepared dishes, etc. You can buy everything from basics like bread and milk to artisanal cheeses and locally made chocolates, etc.

A wide variety of options, so you can enjoy a safe, fast, smart and quality purchase.
